The item arrived on time in 2 packages that were damaged on the outside and taped up. I brought the packages inside and left them right by the front door, thinking nothing of it. Two days later the “Angie professional“ came to assemble the furniture. The first thing he said was “normally when the exterior of the package is like that, it means that there might be damage to the item as well.“ Long story short, there was damage to one of the wood pieces, no instructions on how to build it, and many of the tools were missing. When I called Wayfair customer service, the first woman I spoke to tried her best to find the instructions. When she realized that it was taking much longer than expected to find the instructions, she put me on a long hold, and then we either got disconnected or she hung up. I called back and spoke to another representative and explained to her what was going on and that I was on the phone with another representative and we may have gotten disconnected. This representative, Brittany, told me that she could not find the instructions and that I should Google it and see if I could find anything. I explained to her that I already did and I couldn’t find it. She told me that it would take 2 to 3 business days for the manufacturer to get back to her. I asked her what I should do in the meantime since the assembly man was already here. She told me that I would have to reschedule him. I have never used Angie before, and the service was provided to me through Wayfair. I was not sure how to go about rescheduling this, how much it would cost me or where to even start. Brittany was extremely rude and short with me and told me that I sounded bitter that her coworker hung up on me. I was very confused and looking for advisement. I felt completely humiliated and shocked that I was treated this way when I was looking for help. This closet was being built for my elderly father with dementia who was looking forward to putting his things away. This whole ordeal, traumatized him and the assembly man did his best to put the closet together, but unfortunately was unable to finish. I have no idea what to do next or how to get my closet finished. But it is very clear that Wayfair does not plan to help me. This is extremely upsetting.
