Lovely little bookcase/ storage shelf. I selected the 5 cube storage shelf. The description is quite apt with the word “cute”. While I was aware of the outside dimensions, I didn’t really pay attention to the petiteness of the inner dimensions. It would work really beautifully - fantastically - as a bookcase (perfect depth, varying height for taller books and shorter books, and the cubbies help to compartmentalize and add decorative items). As a storage shelf, it leaves a little bit of “room” to be desired. I’m having a hard time figuring out what I can store on it. I had intended it for various office & school supplies, but the narrow width of the spaces don’t allow for as much of the storage options as I had hoped, and the taller cubbies don’t offer as much usability. Regardless, it is a sturdy, and cute, and really nice little shelf. I chose the wood-grain color and I really like how it looks a lot like natural, real wood even though it’s MDF with a veneer. It came very well packaged along with all the hardware needed plus some extras; the instructions were simple (mostly pictures) and I found the assembly to be quite easy. There’s a couple places (“H” pieces of shelving) where you have to pay attention to which direction the shelves are going, and I did find it odd that the legs of the unit are placed at an angle, but the feet where it touches the floor aren’t angled. It’s fine on carpet though. The legs are real wood in a different tone than the rest of the finish. Overall, I’m really happy with the way it looks and I’ll figure out how to rearrange my storage options to make the best use of it. The faux wood finish really is excellent, and it feels sturdy. Please note, some of the finished pictures were taken in afternoon sunlight, so that is the effect of sunlight, not discoloration in the finish product.. Erin. Austin, TX. Sat Jun 06 2026
