The mattress inside is super comfy, and the tent material is very durable. I haven’t used the LED strip yet, we will see how it works. The LED strip runs down the top left part of the tent, which I could see being quite bright for the person who would be facing it.
The main issue with this tent is ventilation. It would have been awesome to get a small zipper above the main door to allow more airflow and to let heat escape as heat rises.
Mounting the tent was fairly simple. I took the ladder and hardware out of the tent, and then it took my roommate and I to get it up on my bed rack and bolted in place. I didn’t need the plates as the T slots matched up to my bed rack. I would say total install took an hour and a half. Only about 20-30 minutes of that needs the second person.
I drive a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road. So far the tent has been up there for a month and my gas mileage has not changed at all. Time will tell if that holds with longer distance trips (most I have traveled is 120km in each direction). I don’t feel much drag (with the cross bars installed as well), nor do I hear whistling or any noise.
