Our family used this house for our chickens! It worked perfectly for a hen that needed to be isolated from the flock. The heat mat thats provided does not include a temperature dial but it does regulate at an appropriate heat temperature thats not too hot. Our 11 year old daughter put it together all by herself. She liked how the numbers in the directions were hard printed on the plastic pieces making it easy to follow and put together. I would suggest small dogs, bunnies, chickens or the alike as the floor would likely bend with heavier weight. We loved the two room concept so the hen could rest on one side, and have her food and water on the other. The flap does keep the cold air out and the vents help to regulate the airflow when the unit is fully closed. Its a great home for chickens because its plastic, not wood any mites that snuck in the coop would be easier to clean off from this until vs. a wooden coophouse. Overall, Im happy with this home..
