An affordable option for smaller spaces. I purchased this to replace a worn, decade-old hand-me-down mdf computer desk I'd been using as a sewing desk. This table offers more work area surface space, and I appreciate the drop-down section for the sewing machine as well as the fold-up leaf on the left side. I wish the drawers were a sturdy plastic instead of the cardboard reinforced fabric drawers since my experience with similar cube storage shows that they'll lose their shape over time. I'll have to get some drawer dividers to organize my sewing notions, and that should help maintain the draw structure as well. The drawers needed a few days to off-gas after unwrapping, so I ended up leaving them outside on our porch during the afternoons to air out the chemical smell.
I was able to assemble the sewing table by myself; however, I found the hardware packaging and instructions to be more confusing than other self-assemble furniture. The bolts and screws were combined into groups of threes (example: parts 21-23 or parts 24-26), which made me panic halfway through the assembly since there were several different lengths of similar looking bolts - three of which were in the same bag; I wasn't sure if I'd used the correct lengths for the correct legs or cross bars. Other self-assemble furniture I've purchased comes with each part type separated into their labeled bags, and that would have been a huge help considering how many of the bolts only varied in length. I did also initially install the drawer frame backwards since the instructions didn't clarify which side the closed-slide end was supposed to face while assembling the table upside down. It was easy enough to fix once the table was right-side up, but it was momentarily frustrating. The whole table took me roughly an hour to assemble and move into place.
The tabletop has a subtle textured plastic coating, which I haven't seen before on a tabletop and am curious to see how it holds up after several years of use. The table itself does wobble a little bit since it is fairly lightweight, but I didn't expect much different from a table purchased under $150. It fits the space I needed it to fit (in the back corner of our living room, where I'm literally swiveling in my chair between my remote work computer desk and my sewing table), and it has more storage than my previous desk. Overall a win. I'd recommend it for anyone who wants a non-caninent style compact sewing table.. Mary T.. Maine. Thu May 07 2026
