I got this crate because I wanted something that looked more like furniture than a traditional wire kennel, and overall I'm very happy with it. The finished product looks great in my home and blends in much better with my décor than a standard dog crate. It functions nicely as an end table while still giving my dog a comfortable space of their own. Furniture-style crates have become popular because they combine pet functionality with home décor, and this one definitely delivers on that front.
Assembly took me about 90 minutes from start to finish. To be fair, I think I probably could have completed it in closer to 45 minutes if the instructions had been a little clearer. All of the parts were labeled well, which I appreciated, and I never had trouble identifying what went where. My only complaint is that the instruction drawings could have used more detail. There were a few points where I found myself stopping to study the pictures because they weren't as clear as they could have been.
Once assembled, the crate feels sturdy and looks exactly as advertised. The wood finish is attractive, and it doesn't scream "dog crate" when you walk into the room.
The only thing I would caution buyers about is sizing. While the dimensions may technically qualify it for larger dogs, I personally think it is best suited for small dogs and smaller medium-sized dogs. My larger dog fits, but it feels a bit awkward and tighter than I expected. If your dog is what I would consider a true medium-sized breed or larger, I would carefully measure before purchasing. In my opinion, this works best as a roomy crate for small dogs or a comfortable crate for smaller medium-sized dogs.
