This hood was the solution to an island cooktop, I didn’t want something hanging down over the island. Works well and looks amazing. It has a remote to turn on the fan and lights, Multiple speeds and does a great job of removing unwanted sa.

We just had it installed yesterday. Recommend that you get a print out of the specifications and the installation. From what I was able to read in Wayfare’s description section, we would be able to install the unit flush with the ceiling. And unfortunately, because I didn’t have printed specifications we had to drop down the unit a foot from the ceiling. Not the inconspicuous flush mount unit and I was hoping for. According to my contractor, this was a very complicated unit to install. To be fair this is a relatively new category of range top hoods that are being offered. Pleased with the noise level, but have yet to cook with it. Read reviews from other previous purchasers, and a common statement was how small the remote controller was. Minuscule is more appropriate for the slim silhouette 1 1/2 x 3“ controllers. Hope this was helpful.

We haven't had a chance to use it yet, but have turned it on. Sooo quiet! The lights add just a bit of light so don't count on them for full work light. We wanted to install this flush mount, but with 10ft ceilings the contractor said we should build it down. Definitely can be flush mounted.
