We are tired of using ice trays to freeze ice this ice maker gets the job done. The size and ease of use is perfect, not taking up a lot of space. We are a household of two so we don't use a significant amount of ice. We are also conscious of our electricity bill and because this ice maker produces ice so quickly we can turn it on without waiting a long time for ice and simply turn it off when it's not needed. It is a little noisy while it is making ice so if you are easily annoyed keep that in mind.
