got a defective dryer. Apparently this is common for this thing. I just ordered a replacement. I hate when companies send out broken products that they know have a defect.

I was asked to be the second reviewer for DVE46BG6500VA3 that my daughter received. The best feature for me is that you can complete a full load of clothes in 1 hour from start to finish. And when you connect to Wi-Fi, you know when the load is finished so you can multitask and not have to wait around for it to finish. The clothes do not come out smelling burnt and overdried. The towel dry fluffy and not curled up on the ends, The musical tone that plays are the end of the cycle is my time to do my happy dance that another task has been completed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After owning a Samsung washer/dryer set for over a decade, I had a good "older" model to compare to for the new features etc. There are definitely several upgrades that make this dryer a great upgrade from the old one, but there are still a few things I think the company can work on. As with the washer, the design on great, and the numerous setting options are amazing to have. We love the capacity over our old one, as well as the introduction of the steam functions. The closed lint trap is a wonderful upgrade over the open one on the old dryer, which often shed the lint into the dryer when removing. One thing that we have noticed is an article of clothing often gets trapped on the ledge of the door, and will not dry or unwrinkle with the rest of the load. It must be caught and manually adjusted. This happens more often than I would like. The same as with the washer, the buttons take longer than needed to hold for turning the power on, yet are too sensitive and accidentally get turned back off at the slightest brush against them. This should be reversed. For both this and the washer, it would be nice to have volume controls for the chimes. I do like the steam unwrinkle function, however it is meant for a whole load. If you try it on one or two items, they will be left drenched and leave you wishing you had not trying to unwrinkle a shirt 10 minutes before needing to put it on. There should be double function, one for the whole load, and one for a single item. To that note, the sensors do not always do the best job at judging how wet things remain. The cycles are stopped prematurely, which is one of our biggest grievances. It was the same with our old system, so this seems to be something Samsung hasn't put a lot of time into addressing. We love the memory functions, but they seem to work better on the washer than the dryer for some reason. Sometimes, they are out of order on the dryer and we have to cycle through more than we did a load or two ago. All that being said, the machine is still a great upgrade and has numerous new features we are still sorting out how to use daily. There will always be small things that could be better, and think that is what we have here.

Having owned a previous Samsung washer and dryer set from more than a decade ago, I was a bit disappointed in the new set. While there are definitely new features such as the steam function and larger capacity etc, there seem to be many things where Samsung took a step backwards. Let's go over the dryer. Let's start with what I do like. I like the larger capacity, the cycle memory (even though it seems glitchy and doesn't seem to remember the order the way it should sometimes), the wifi, the design, the closed lint collector (open ones like our past dryer allowed the lint to often fall back into the dryer), super speed drying (though the sensors often turn it off too quickly), and energy star rating. Now, things where I can see improvements need to be made. It seems to happen every load, something gets stuck on the door ledge inside while drying and doesn't remain part of the cycle. Annoying as you have to catch it and fix it manually...every time. The wrinkle release is obviously not made for a single article of clothing as it DRENCHES the clothes and the dry time is not near enough to get it dry. Forget tossing a shirt in before work hoping that it will be unwrinkled in 5 mins like the old dryer. There should really be two functions, one for a whole load and one for a single item. The dry times also seem off, and I have had to manually add more time every time (no memory here, at least not for me). It doesn't seem like the sensors do the job they should for correcting dry times. The button press to start the load can seem a little longer than needed, but heaven forbid you accidentally touch it while moving the knob because a split second brush of the finger and it's back off. Backwards of how it should be. There should be an indicator if a setting is hot or cold, so when you want one or the other it is easy to sort out. It gets confusing at times. The buttons are flat, not tactile shape at all and you have to basically touch dead center to activate them. They would be better to have a slight raise to them so they are easier to find. Lastly, a set this new should allow full control over sound volume and also have a mute function. There is no reason to not have these in 2023. I received this product at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review
