I hate giving only 2 stars to such a gorgeous-looking product, but buyers need to know what to expect if they plan to reverse one of the doors for a side-by-side setup.
Both units come hinged on the right, so reversing one is required. Reversing them seemed straightforward, but the decorative screw covers were nearly impossible to remove. The instructions suggest gently prying them with a knife, but the first one snapped off inside. I tried everything—heating them with a hairdryer, using specialized tools, heating metal to melt into them, and carefully scraping out the plastic—and every single cover broke off inside.
I ended up having to push the broken plastic pieces all the way through just so the screws could catch. Unfortunately, one casing stripped in the process. I had to settle for securing the bottom hinge with two screws instead of three, and I’m hoping it holds over time. The manufacturer really should rethink this design and use simple black screws instead it wouldnt hurt the aesthetic and would save customers a major headache.
On a positive note, delivery was quick and seamless (though I wish a white-glove option had been available to help haul them down to the basement). They look absolutely gorgeous in our new basement bar, run quietly, and cool well.
