Bunk beds are well built. Study! One piece never came with the proper holes in it so my husband had to drill them

Overall the bed went together OK, but quality control of finishes and assembly components is quite bad. The stairs had multiple locations where the manufacturer either forgot to install or simply missed critical threaded inserts. We ended up having to substitute with GRK structural fasteners, which radically increased complexity of assembly. The drawer assembly is a joke with terrible fit and finish. Nothing was aligned properly and as far as I can tell not a single component was actually correct. This is one of those situations where spending a bit more from a reputable furniture store goes a long way. If my girls won't so aw-struck and happy with it, this would get returned. Unfortunately we have space limitations and needed a small bunk bed. If you can fit something bigger, spend a bit more and get quality furniture.

The bed is a nice size for the room, staircase is nice, and the shelving is adequate. Two pieces came damaged, and the overall quality of it is subpar. I wish it would have come with some touch up paint because there are missing areas of gray paint throughout. The concept wasn't well thought out in some areas: 1) no stopper for bottom drawers, and the unfinished wood of the drawers is exposed if you look to the side of the bed 2) the slats where the mattress goes are just pieces of wood without any paint or finish which are exposed even with the mattress on it. If this were a $800 or lower priced bed, I could overlook the areas of poor quality...but the quality doesn't match the price.
