The instructions left some lacking details about the directions that some pieces should be facing which effected some of the steps later on. I had to go back and redo a couple things. The stability of the bunk is lacking for the price that you pay. Even after tightening and making sure everything was secure. My five year old would make the bed move to a concerning level anytime he moved or tried to climb up it. I had to go buy 1 by 4's to make an outside bracket around the back legs and latch them together as well as 1 by 2s to lock all of the slats in to place below the mattress. I had to put handles on the ladder and bolts to move the ladder away from the bed frame a bit so you could actually get your feet on it to climb up. The basics and storage of the bed are nice. However the sturdiness of it is lacking, with some additional brackets or boards it is usable. But disappointed in the overall stability of an item that a child will be climbing up on and sleeping
