Hard to pick up the baby for same level height. No sliding or whatever to adjust the height to pick up or put the baby

The wrong item was shipped and the correct item has not arrived yet…the baby has, but the crib has not. I appreciate the effort to ship the correct item, and the mattress arrived on schedule, but the crib has been a bit of a disaster. The crib is a gift for my sister and she did a lot of research to pick out her perfect crib. It was ordered March 13, with the original delivery expected March 20-24. I emailed wayfair on March 28, saying it had not arrived and that the tracking information said the order was still preparing to ship; I asked if there was a delay and what the new shipping date was. The return answer was immediate apologies and that the warehouse was contacted and I will receive an email when the item is shipped, this was not helpful and did not answer my question. I answered the survey about my inquiry saying it was not helpful, it was a form response and I would have preferred a response that said it would be looked into and to expect a response in 3 business days or whatever. On March 30, I received a response saying exactly this. April 1, receive an email repeating the March 30 email. On April 3, my sister received a phone message at home saying our order had been been sent to the warehouse but lost at there, and there would be a follow up email and her (we figured mine since I placed the order) profile would be updated when it was ready to be shipped. Neither of us received a follow up email. I noticed on April 12th that the tracking order said it would be delivered April 18th. Later on in the day of the 12th, I received an email saying it would be delivered on the 13th. The wrong crib arrived on the 13th. I called customer service that evening, got more apologies, explained I was very anxious that the correct crib arrive before the baby, filled out the appropriate forms and sent the appropriate pictures. I was told the correct crib was in stock at the warehouse and would be sent out as soon as possible. On the 14th, I received an email mail saying the correct crib would be sent on May 2, so we are still waiting for it. The original order said it would be shipped in 7-11 days, the replacement order is longer at 19 days. I thought that if the correct crib was in stock at the warehouse, it’s delivery world be expedited, but this has not happened. The warehouse is about a hour from my sister’s address, not 19 days away. We were going to ask if my sister and husband could pick it up at the warehouse. They were prepared to drive the hour, but their baby arrived 2 weeks early. I have to say, this has been a disappointing experience so far. It has gone from excitement to worry. I have received several survey requests since the wrong crib was delivered. I ignored them because I wanted to wait until I got the crib, and could rate the experience and product, but with the arrival of the baby but no crib, my experience is 1. I don’t have a product to rate. The people have been very pleasant to deal with.

Lots of imperfections, chips and scratches, and very dirty. Wood is also darker than it looks in the photo, the crib is almost black
