Junk. I desperately want a refund. Would give zero stars if that were an option. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING THIS PLEASE READ. I am so unhappy. Wayfair has never disappointed me like this. I never leave reviews but I was burned so badly on this purchase. I thought at the $1000 price point I didn’t think I was taking such a risk (a large sum, nothing to scuff at). This bed won’t last two years and is actually worth $200. That’s saying a lot, I have cheaper beds in my house that have lasted 30 years. There are so many parts that it took 3 (competent, handy people) two full days to build this. The instructions are 84 pages, some of them are unclear and the QR codes for “further instructions” are videos of people overseas without English captions and usually with the camera 15 feet away. So you can’t see what they are working on. Though, with some forethought you can figure the diagrams out. Most of the screws and bolts are junk. Some areas the wood is too thin and flimsy. You can just tell it’s all so cheap. There are serious design flaws. The two posts out front that support the top bunk are not substantial enough, they have flex and give. Not to mention, The designers/engineers don’t know what the point of a Murphy’s bed is. When you lay the Murphy’s bed flat to use it as a bed, you have to bolt it to the bottom of the flimsy vertical front posts that hold up the top bunk. I am not making this up. A murphy’s bed is used for its convenience, and we should be able to use it without getting out tools and bolts.. I WILL CIRCLE IT IN A SCREEN GRAB and upload. The measurements are off because the top bunk, with a regular full size mattress had extra space lengthwise (would fit a full XL) and there are gapping holes there (bad for kid toes and dogs). Somewhere, when I ordered I read 8” deep mattress recommended (however I can’t find that now). I wanted to be sure it fit the Murphy’s bed depth wise when closed. So I bought 2 new full size 8” deep mattresses off Wayfair at the same time (the mattresses are fantastic! But that’s a different story). The boxes for the bed arrived and say recommended mattress 6” right on the outside of the box? So far it seems okay to shut the Murphy’s with the 8”, but that is why I looked through all the materials to buy a size that would fit, if it’s supposed to be up to 6” that’s what I would’ve purchased. The cubby spaces under the stairs are useless, they are not partitioned off at the back so they are not cubby’s, the are just magnetic doors that open on the front of the stairs to the open bookshelf portion. … there is so much wrong with this bed, but I hope I conveyed enough so no one purchases it. Overall, this is a flimsy, badly engineered, unstable, worrying (I don’t trust it to hold up with my teenage daughter using it), inconvenient to use (bottom bunk) bed, and insanely overpriced bed. I am not at home to take pictures, but if I can add them to this review later I will.

Instructions are AWFUL!! All 84 pages of them. Oh a QR code to see detailed video of assembly?! NOPE just kidding, it’s not in English and appears to be filmed by a potato about 100 yards away. Over the course of 3 days we invested about 22 hours, and we are pretty handy as far as assembling things go. Several things weren’t lined up properly. Pieces were warped. One piece cracked. Nails and screws weren’t all labeled. For the price I expected much more. It looks nice once assembled, but cost me my sanity. The Murphy bed is essentially useless because tools and additional parts would need to be busted out to use it which defeats the purpose. Wouldn’t recommend.
