For this price you would think, but it would be solid wood. It is pressed wood and very thin. It arrived with one of the legs broken off save your money.

I love it! It looked very elegant.

PROS: The desk is sturdy, the drawers slide smoothly, and the color is beautiful. CONS: 1) I bought it because the description says there is a drop down computer tray. There is no computer tray. There are only the four drawers. The desk it too high for ergonomic use of a keyboard and the drawer makes it challenging to install an external keyboard tray. 2) It arrived with one leg cracked at the top near the attachment to the desktop - it does not appear to be something that happened during shipping but more likely when it was built. 3) The back is painted but there are four labels (two of which are warnings about carcinogens) and they are very difficult to remove. 4) The paint comes off with the slightest scratch. I've owned a lot of furniture and have never had something scratch this easily. Just touching the walls when bringing the desk upstairs resulted in several scratches. Removing the labels also caused scratches.

The desk arrived as scheduled. It is a beautiful, sturdy desk. Excellent for when my 10 year old grandsons need to catch up on school work, but also nice enough for anyone staying in the guest room to use. We bought the warm cherry color and look forward to ordering the matching chair, when it is back in stock.
