Gate, sides and corner dowels are well made and sturdy. However, unless you are purchasing with the intention of a fluctuating open-shut situation I would suggest purchasing the version of this gate with the fixed brackets. The locks on the ones included here have a generous 1-1.5 inch leeway in either direction when in the locked position, which won't give much support for a small child when they inevitably try to use them as a support for standing or sitting.

This is a nice looking baby gate, but it is not sturdy and the instructions are unclear. It does a fair job at keeping the baby in and the dog out, but it wobbles so much and the baby can push and move it around (even when the connectors are on lock ). It comes with some sort of velcro that is supposed to keep it from moving, but that does not work at all. The material is fine. It is light, so yes, very easy to move around from one room to another. Disadvantage, like I said, it just wobbles (A LOT). It does the job somehow, but I would be cautious with very active babies. I will have to spend extra to buy accessories to keep it in place. I spend some time looking for wood baby gates that were under 300, so this was very disappointing.
