The color was a little more brown than I expected. It is suuuuper comfortable. It's super heavyweight so it's honestly still pretty warm even without an insert. I did have a textured blanket inside though, which got covered in fuzz from the duvet cover and is now no longer usable without a duvet cover which is kind of a bummer.
