This is only a 6 inch spring mattress. So as you expect theres not a lot of padding but similar to a couch mattress. Great for use of guest.

The mattress is extremely hard. No padding. It is like you are laying on the floor. I was really disappointed with the mattress. My son does not like it either. I have to purchase another one. I literally want to send this one back. It is extremely uncomfortable.
