This set of two queen-size pillows came rolled and vaccuum-packed, then sealed in plastic, then placed in a mailing envelope. As such, there’s a fish-like smell to the pillows. Make sure to follow the instructions of airing them out or better yet, drying them in the dryer (if you have a big-enough dryer). The “drying” can also fluff them up some more. Texture-wise, the pillow is nice to touch (it’s microfiber). I have yet to feel the “cooling effect” but maybe I won’t even notice because I’ll be asleep.

UPDATE...... I did get the pillow in a stansard size case, used a pill protector stuffed slightly in it zipped up and fit int reg sz pillow case. It actually makes the pillow a little fuller. Love the pillows, 5 star is for comfort and quality. Nice materials, made very well. Sleeping on them is very comfortable and I will also note that my head didn't do the nightly sweat thing. So great for the cooling factor. I did not have to keep turning or adjusting the pillow, It's not firm but does a some firmness to it with just enough softness to fitt the shoulder and neck for us side sleepers. Size states queen which I thought was odd as pillows are normally standard/queen (one in the same) and then king size. I have a cal king bed but I do not like sleeping on king pillows, too big. Usually use a standard size pillow and buy extra standard pillow cases when purchasing king sheets or I cut and sew them smaller. These pillows do not fit the the standard size covers. I purchased a new set of queen sheets for spare bedroom, which usually come with standard pillow cases and it barely fits in them. Just sticks out a wee bit which wont't bother me and the pillow case didn't slide off the pillow during the night either. They come in plastic shrunk for shipping amd fluffed up nicely as shown in pics.

This is a good quality pillow. It is a very nice length. It isn’t too soft nor too hard. If you like a firm pillow this isn’t for you. It’s more on the flat side. Used it for about a week so far and will continue.

The pillows are large and fluffy. The expanded shortly after being released from the package. They have a little weight to them so the remain where placed. The 4 is because I like my pillows a little firmer.

My two new queen size down alternative pillows are very comfy to sleep on. They are soft yet still a bit firm. They actually feel cool to the touch. They arrived shrunk down in a plastic that when opened and then were placed in the dryer for 10 minutes, fluffed up beautifully. They are a welcome addition to my bedding.
