Great mattress! I bought this mattress for my 9 year old daughter’s new bed. It was easy to unbox and quickly expanded once opened. We let it expand for 72 hours before laying on it and it measures exactly 12 inches. It’s comfortable and not too firmtoo soft, but I would say it’s more of a medium-firm feel. You don’t sink into it, it gently forms around you (even adults). My daughter had a very plush mattress prior and I had read reviews that sometimes the mattresses in a box can be on the softer side so I went with a medium, but think a plush would have been more what I was aiming for. But she loves it and sleeps great on it, so that’s all that matters.
