[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a larger Hamilton Beach slow cooker, which I love, but decided to try a smaller one since it's just my husband and I. I like slow cookers for beef and pork roasts especially. Things I like about this smaller 5 quart cooker: fits a chicken or smaller roast, very easy to serve food from it, very easy to clean. The built in lid rest did not impress me. It's not needed.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I like this slow cooker, but there are a couple of ways it could be better. The look of it is great - I like the matte black outer cooker and the black dish. The handles could be a bit bigger. You can only fit a couple of fingers through them. Also the lid stand feature is great, and so is the cord wrap, but you cant use both at the same time, and you have to remove the attachment at the back to switch from lid holder to cord wrap, as it does not have 360 degree turning. This is not the worst thing in the world, as I am sure that most people have to unplug and move their slow cooker off of the countertop anyway once they're done with it. It's just an added step that would have been nice not to have to do. I also am not completely sold on the digital touch buttons, as I fear one day these might not work anymore, but that is a later problem and not one I have actually encountered yet. Again, overall I really like it, it does a fantastic job as all Hamilton Beach slow cookers I have owned do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love this slow cooker. We first used it for Christmas Dinner, and we made hot sausage with it. They came out perfect. They didn't over cook and burn to the side of the pot. The sausage melted in your mouth. The green peppers and onions came out nice and soft and didn't burn. The next day we reheated the hot sausage on low and once again, they didn't burn, or nothing was burnt to the sides of the pot. We used it to make chili, stuffed green peppers and various other meals and so far, everything was delicious. Another plus is the touchpad switch and no handle on the on and off switch. Don't have to worry about breaking off while stored in the cabinet. Another plus is the cord holder. The cord wraps around it and stays in place until need again. It's size of 7 quarts gives us plenty of room to make enough food for everyone. The control panel also gives you a time setting of 2 to 10 hours cooking times. The final and most important plus for me is that it's easy to wash the insert. With my old one, I had to let soak overnight and scrub the next day to get all of the burnt food that was stuck to the sides. All of the pluses make this slow cooker worth recommending to anyone. This product is well worth it.
