Our knives are dishwasher safe and serrated so they do not need sharpening. The onyx handles are a lovely addition to your dining and tablescape. These steak knives are a good match for the Ginkgo International Le Prix flatware set, which doesn't provide a steak knife. For the most part, I am happy with the look and feel of the knives. That being said, the handles are not wood, even if the specifications say so. Also, I question the "dishwasher safe" rating.
