The stool comes with leg extenders, without it, it's the height for a low breakfast counter. But adding the extenders bring it up to barstool height. Im 5'4 and I can just barely lean my butt on it with my feet still on the floor. If I want to sit, I have to use the foot rest to step up to the seat.
The stool is very sturdy. The base is wider than the seat and it feels extremely stable. I don't watch my balance or feel like I need to be careful when I'm hopping up or when I'm adjusting myself.
