Would have given it 5 stars but the cuckoo sound wasn't quite as good as I had hoped

I hate it! I honestly hate it! First of all, I had no idea it was battery operated. And it makes just the sickest sound imaginable. It sounds like a sick bird - a sick SICK bird! It's definitely NOT worth the $350 I paid for it, I can tell you that. It looks pretty and the details with the bears and everything is really nice, but it's just NOT functional. And that price is outrageous for what it is. I've had cuckoo clocks in the past and what I expected was an old time cuckoo clock like the one I used to have. That's not what I got. I even tried replacing the batteries thinking maybe I just had old batteries in there. Nope. Same terrible sound. I thought maybe there was a tab to pull in the battery compartment that would give it better audio or something. Nope - no tab. It's just ridiculous and I can't believe it's priced over $300. It's going back!
