Only the base is cast iron. The rest of the mirror frame is metal painted to match. The mirror back is cardboard held in place with tabs, so not at all nicely finished. Because of poor finish of the back, the mirror doesn’t look good layered in front of a larger vanity mirror, something you might expect in a “shaving” mirror. It is a disappointingly cheap design for the price. If I had time to look for a better mirror, I would definitely return this one.
