The lanterns did require a decent amount of assembly, involving a great deal of styrofoam and inserting the glass panels into each lantern. (at four sides a pop) Once assembled, they looked wonderful. However, literally less than two weeks after having them in use outside, they began to rust. When I contacted Wayfair, they offered me a 15% refund, as the description of the product did not say "for indoor use only". Therefore, although very attractive, I would not recommend them for any kind of outdoor use.

These lanterns are better in person. I am not going to use it just for Christmas. They look great at my fireplace. I gave them just a little spray of hammer copper spray paint and I mean just a little.

These were much nicer than the picture and darker in color (but exactly what I was looking for).
