The artist was born in Morelos, Mexico in December of 1989. He started drawing at the age of five by tracing over cartoon drawings that his cousin would draw for him. At the age of 10, Rick and his family moved to the United States in search of the American dream. During his first few years in the United States, he was constantly moving from different homes, schools, and states until his family finally settled in San Juan Capistrano, CA. This journey allowed Rickās love for art to grow and develop into a passion. In 2011 Rick moved to San Francisco, CA to attend the fine art program at the Academy of Arts University. During this time, he participated in various shows in San Francisco as well as in Japan. In 2014, Rick moved to New York City for a year where he worked as an artist assistant for two international artists, Bradley McCallum and Eng Tay. Now living in Los Angeles, Rick has been working out of his studio in Glendale, CA gathering inspiration from nature, people, and the diverse cultures surrounding him.
