I recently painted my bedroom gray and dark blue and purchased this artwork to complement the walls in the room. I purchased the 30 x 40 size to go on a small wall painted gray next to the mirrored closets and opposite a study desk, so the horse reflection shows. The blue in the print complements the opposite wall, which is dark blue, and the gray in the print compliments the gray wall that it hangs on. The size works wonderfully; I am not sure what the 'rules are for hanging art' are, but I wanted the horse to stand out, which it does very well on this small wall. Although the horse is moving, galloping through the dust, the picture is very relaxing and gorgeous, which works for a bedroom. Another reviewer's image was not representative of the striking colors advertised either, like mine, probably because of the angle of light from a window, so I was pleased when I received the artwork that it was the colors that it was as advertised. The small wall has a window next to it, so the colors are more vibrant than my picture shows due to the daylight through the window reflecting. But, be assured the image in the advertisement is an exact representation of coloring. The colors extend to the canvas sides; if lying in bed, you don't see any white. You can see the reflection of the print and its sides in the mirror from that angle. If sitting at the desk looking at the horse head-on, he gallops towards you and is a very striking image. The packaging was excellent, and it also arrived with hardware and instructions for hanging, which helps and is a nice touch; I was able to hang the print as soon as I received it!
