My base was damaged in the centre of the upper side with scratches and hazing of the wood finish. Looking at the packaging, you can tell that these scratches were caused during shipping, as the base was bearing the entire weight of the cloche and its box without any protective foam/spacer. What is strange is that the box for the cloche actually has a dedicated section to securely include the base. However, for whatever reason it was not utilized? I have now made a return for complete replacement request, as the 10% discount is unsatisfactory. The options for replacement requires a return of the entire piece, and this can be carried out through a Fedex drop-off or pickup which is a good option. Otherwise the piece does look as expected, looking forward to 4 or 5 star review once this is resolved appropriately.
