Lovely clock which is now sitting on my wall - just sitting! I placed a brand new battery in the clock and set the time using the mechanism on the back. It began to work, so I hung it on the wall. Within 30 minutes the clock stopped. I took it off the wall and carefully rechecked the hands to make sure they weren’t touching. Everything looked fine so I rehung the clock. This time it worked for about seven hours and then quit. During the period of time that it worked it lost time on the upswing of the second hand and gained time on the downswing. It appears to me that the single AA battery mechanism is not powerful enough to run the relatively large hands - but I’m not an expert on the subject by any means. I like the style of clock, so I intend to change the mechanism to a heavy duty C battery powered one. I’ll let you know if that works. Very disappointed overall though! I paid a lot of money for this inconvenience as well - overpaid apparently! Update: Still a very nice clock - I actually love it. It’s perfect for my decor and nothing exactly like it could be found anywhere. The main update is that I installed the larger “C” battery power mechanism and it has worked perfectly since then. I recommend that Wayfair have the manufacturer upgrade to the larger battery. If that had been the case to begin with my initial rating would have been five star plus. Turned out to be one of the nicest clock’s I’ve ever owned. Very pleased now!
