It’s perfect for a dining room, over a fireplace or in the living room but wouldn’t work in most bedrooms. I think of it as adding a design feature, rather than as a functional item. The frame is a true matte black, welded metal. Two people would have the easiest time mounting it, and it definitely needs to go on a stud or studs. The mounting hardware works for either a single stud or across multiple ones—which I chose to do, as it’s quite heavy. Because the hardware is on two different sides. It’s possible to put it up horizontally or vertically, making it even more versatile.
