I was surprised to get a small card describing the material that was used to cast this object. I bought two; this one and the nautilus shell, for my mantel. I like the shell much better, as this starfish looks like it was smooshed before it was dry somehow? Plus the star doesn't sit on top of the dowel, rather it's stuck ONTO the dowel that comes up from the base. So it doesn't look good from behind like the nautilus does.

Absolutely beautiful! Packaging was done with utmost care; item arrived in excellent shape! Wanted something coastal and it's nicely displayed on a floating shelf in the guest bath. Very happy - thx Wayfair!
