Just what we needed. This is a picture from my reading chair, which was a nuisance in late afternoon when the sun would lower in the west. Still bright, but not blinding. Also provides a little privacy. Pretty easy to install. Just take your time, plan, and measure well before installing to ensure they mount the way you want.

This item took a long time to ship. It sat in a warehouse about 40 miles away for 2-3 weeks. When we tried to install it the crank ring was sticking in the crank mechanism. Not happy.

This shade is excellent and I wish I had known about it long ago. I have already spread the word. The first day it was hung and the afternoon sun beamed through, my apartment remained so much cooler that I opened the door to see if it was as hot outside as it usually is. It was. I was able to keep the drapes open the entire day. What a joy it was to continue enjoying the beauty of the outdoors until I chose to close the drapes, rather than needing to because of how exhausting the heat is at this time of year. I am also able to open the sliding door to increase air flow on hot days, while still keeping the shade down to block the heat. The shade does a better job than multiple layers of drapes. I have already ordered a complimentary one from the same company for a smaller western facing window.
