Although another reviewer said that the frame was printed on the canvas, the description of the item had me hoping that perhaps it had since been removed. It has not. The frame and ID plate are still printed on the canvas, but the shadowing under it has a trump loeil effect and so it isn't as bothersome. It does a good job of tricking the viewers eye. The print overall is a nice quality with clear colors and the price is very reasonable for the size I purchased (35"x35").
