I love these darling bookends. I put several books between them, they are still standing, after several days. Joy of Cooking is one of the books, and if you’re familiar with that book, you know how heavy it is. Yes! I recommend you to make this purchase, glad I did.

Unfortunately the back end of the bicycle was not placed properly on the base of the book end so that the wheel appears to be standing in the air. There was no time to return it as it is a gift for a specific party date . It's for a family member who will forgive me the small flaw and knows I was unable to get out to shop. It's too bad tho, because it is quite a perfect gift for someone who loves bikes and books.
