The photos of this moon globe made it look almost metallic. It is not metallic. The base is clear plastic and the globe is not attached to the base at all. The globe itself is very light weight. It wasn’t what I was expecting but I still like it and decided to keep it.

This globe was a perfect addition to our wedding reception setting. We wanted something unique to use as a card holder, so we cut a hole in the side of it for people to insert cards. It worked great & we got lots of compliments on it.
