Shifting into gear, a cement mixer rumbles to life as Armando Ramírez recycles castoff auto parts and discarded bits of metal. Sheet metal becomes the sturdy bumper and wire mesh, the grille. Screws are transformed into lights while auto bearings become wheels. Wire, tubes and die-cut scraps all ingeniously fulfil distinct roles. Ramírez does not give his sculptures a fine polished finish, therefore smudges and scratches may be present.
