Lovely candy or tea jar. The lid is not airtight, no seal or ring whatsoever. However, there is a rim to accommodate a gasket ring if someone wanted to add one. The jar was very well packed in a high quality box and inner packing. Overall a nice mid 19th century looking jar. Pleased with the look and usefulness.

Pretty! Its more of a grey-white than creamy warm white

Cute but smallish jar, nice color/ very sharp! Sometimes or more often Chinorosie scenes can be smudged or blurred, not so with this jar, crisp colors red/white. Not just decorative, but functional for storing jewelry, i.e., especially while doing dishes etc.
