Chops garlic very well. Need to be careful opening it to get your garlic out. The blade just sits in there. There is nothing attaching it to the unit.

I love this!! I have been using it for years and it is the best way to chop garlic. I use this larger version and chop a LOT of garlic, then I store it is a small glass container in my fridge. I recently moved and cannot find mine, so I ordered 2 more. I seriously cannot live without it :)
