I love this pot and plan to use when I start water bath canning in a few months. I compared this to other products on various major websites. I chose this one because it has glass lid so I can keep an eye on what is going on in the canning without opening the lid. It came with the insert made specifically for this size pot. The lifter looks very sturdy. The material of this canner is heavy enough to not burn on the bottom if using to cook other items. Will use for dual purpose to make soups. Very happy with purchase.

Excellent heavy duty quality - safe for glass topped stoves too, and will continue to do it's job through generations. The included rack holds jars upright and sit's sturdily in place when lifted and set on the upper rim for placement & removal (unlike many that are out there). I have some silicone pads made for canning that don't fit some canners. This pot is a perfect fit for the 12 inch pads. Love the clear glass lid and silicone covered handles on sides and lid. Can also be used to make soup from left over Christmas / thanksgiving turkey. Very happy with this purchase!
