Many years ago we frequently traveled with our son's soccer team. Typically, parents of players would often go with the team to tournaments, and go to dinners as a group. One trip coincided with my wife's birthday and the coach would tell everyone in ear shot, it was my wife's birthday. It became a habit on numerous trips across the U.S and Europe MY wife would receive gifts ranging from complimentary gifts such as desserts, champagne, even salt and pepper shakers. The soccer shoes S & P shakers are a gift to the coach's widow on her 90th birthday as a reminder of the fun trips we all made.
