Cuisiland Cast Iron Wok with Lid

It’s not as deep as I thought it was which is the only reason I’m giving it four stars. It’s great quality otherwise. A great buy!

Nice enough wok except one design flaw. The base is less than 6" (about 5") which is the exact size of my smaller sized coil elements which I assume to be international small size. A 6.5" base would sort of be the minimum ideal size to sit on 6" coils. Nothing else about the wok need change except some additional iron to widen the base. The bowl is well shaped, the lid is okay though likely less durable than the wok and I would rather a blued carbon steel deep skillet or blued carbon steel shallow wok as a lid like a double dutch oven rather than breakable glass that just steams up so you can't see through it anyways. The base is my only real complain though. I bought this and the bigger 14" model that they offer as a sort of companion set thinking I was buying a wok for the big and small elements of my stove. Unfortunately though it turns out the 14" has a 6.5" flat base which is exactly right for the small element (would need to be 8.5" for the large one) but leaves this smaller 12" wok with a 5" base no place to really fit in on the stove. Why the base needs to fit the element is that it's not efficient to not have the full element covered. You lose a lot of electricity heating the air and maybe make your kitchen hot while food is still cold. Other than this small design faux pass it is a very nice wok and it can still be used at the cost of wasted electricity. If you have a gas stove or a stove with 5" elements I guess this is great for you. I probably won't use it often in favor of the more efficient 14" unless I just need to make space on the stove for other cookware at the same time because the 14" does block the rear element. I wish they'd give this 12" one a 6.5" base and the 14" one a 8.5" base with extra iron without changing the internal bowl which has a nice round bottom that collects oil in the center.

Works well, however it could have been seasoned better as it started to show rust after first use.

This wok was exactly what I wanted , when you're ordering online you you can't always know what you're getting but Wayfair always delivers.
