This device has unreliable cover closing attachment. It gets stuck and does not open in a normal way. I have twice, TWICE, had all content pour out when trying to detach the mug-part from the machine after making the shake and the cover opens! You really REALLY have to close it so tight it takes muscle (that I have, luckily) to open it after releasing from machine. Very disappointed of this Cuisinart.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this Blender because I wanted to make smoothies using frozen fruit. I had been using a giant blender that was doing the job, but it was a real pain taking it out of the cupboard every time I wanted to use it because it took up an enormous amount of room. Then my Compact Blender arrived. It was perfect. It took up no room at all and I could leave it out on the counter of my apartment-sized kitchen. And then I put in the frozen fruit, the honey vanilla yogurt, and added a small amount of soy vanilla milk, pressed the button and the power of this little thing just blew me away! Then, NOT even having to put the smoothie into yet another cup, I had to use a spoon to drink/eat it because it was so thick. I should note that I used some honey for sweetener, but on the occasions that I added a banana, no honey was necessary. Now that I think about, tonight I will use a frozen banana. And sometimes I added some ice cream as I was eating it. Several minutes later, after it started to melt, I switched to a smoothie straw. As a person who watches her calories, this produces a treat that I never think twice about. I purchased this little wonder about three months ago, have used it every single day, and never looked back. Treat yourself!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was in the market for a new blender for smoothies, particularly one that blends well and cleans up easily. I have been using the blender for a few weeks, and I find that it is not quite as adept at blending berries with seeds as I would have hoped. I also find that I have to stop the blender and shake the contents more than once to successfully blend my smoothies. It's not a bad option, but I don't love it as much as I had hoped I would.

Beautiful finish & compact. Works way beyond my expectations. No waste at all & it's great that it shuts down when blending is done.

Convenient, and effective. Great for blending smoothies
