I really wanted to like the Cuisinart Soho 1-Liter Double-Wall Electric Kettle. It has a beautiful, modern design and heats water quickly, but unfortunately, I found the placement of the spout and escaping steam to be a serious safety concern. In the morning, when I'm making tea, I'm not always fully awake and don't always remember to keep my hands well away from the spout. The steam coming from this kettle is extremely hot, and I badly burned my hand twice after only about five uses. I understand that steam from any kettle is hot and care needs to be taken, but I have used kettles before without having this issue. For me, the design made it too easy to accidentally put my hand near the steam path. After being burned a second time badly, I simply wasn't comfortable continuing to use it and threw the kettle away. It's attractive and worked as expected for heating water, but unfortunately, the burn risk outweighed the positives for me. I would strongly recommend being extremely cautious around the spout while this kettle is heating and immediately afterward.

Works great. Heats up quickly. Shuts off automatically when it boils. Looks nice on the counter.
