Excalibur 700

I borrowed a smaller Excalibur dehydrator from a friend last year so I could dehydrate larger batches of harvested food. I used it in addition to my own dehydrator that was not an Excalibur. The difference was striking so I purchased a larger model & am extremely happy with the results I am getting. I have used it to dehydrate a variety of fruit leathers, ready to rehydrate & eat soups, potatoes, & other vegetables. This was a fabulous investment. I also purchased the para flex tray liners for leathers & soups. They are expensive but well worth every penny! I strongly recommend both items for anyone serious about preserving the harvest.

I read reviews mentioning the motor was loud but this machine is whisper quiet. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

I would give this a 5/5 but as many people have mentioned, you have to purchase additional mesh sheets to put on the metal trays if you want to be able to dehydrate anything substantial. None of these dehydrators come with those, so r sure to purchase them when buying your dehydrator. Since we were upgrading our existing Excalibur we had them already. Other than that this is a 5 star machine with amazing features like the push in door and high quality stainless steel trays (way better than the older plastic ones) and digital display. My first Excalibur lasted 15 years and while it’s still running, the trays and plastic were cracking enough to need to replace, so the new all metal will be a huge upgrade and I hope to last me many many years.

Originally I started dehydrating with the plug in one switch on/off no temperature control dehydrators magic chef and Presto which worked well but there was no control of the temperature and I had to rotate trays. Game changer with my Excalibur. I Bought the 10 tray Black Friday 2024. I've been using it non stop. Drying fresh fruits and herbs/greens from my garden. Great for holiday gift bags and to share with friends and neighbors. It's a little tricky at first on length of time for the different types of fruits. Easy to use. The Poly screen work well for sticky fruit like Bananas. Next adventure fruit leather and beef jerky. Need to buy some silicone or para flex mats first.

We have used multiple different dehydrators over a span of about 12 years now. This excalibur 10-tray is by far the best. Build quality and aesthetics alone are fantastic. It is incredibly fast and efficient. There's a strange consistent rumor that these are "loud." If you define the sound of a low fan as loud then... It's still not very loud. Of all the ambient noises that occur in a house, this is not the loud one. Overall this product is an incredible value, you will be very happy with your purchase. The only upgrade from here is a full blown freeze drying setup, and that's a completely different spend level.
