Overall this is a solid, beautiful piece of wood. The magnetic appears to be pretty strong though I do find it "weaker" the closer to the sides you display your knives which is a bit disappointing. There also seemed to be a couple of scratches, though I can't be sure if they were my fault or not since I didn't notice them until I put the piece together. Overall it's nice and meets my needs

Strong magnets and very compact,i really like it instead of a wooden knife block. With a knife block one could accidentally put a dirty knife in a slot and contaminate the block. No chance of that happening with this holder.
