It is constructed of a beautiful cherry wood and is designed to prevent dulling of knives. The thickness is great because its surface height does not strain the back while cutting or chopping. I have dreamed of owning a John Boos board for a very long time and am thrilled that Wayfair made my dream come true thanks to their convenient credit card. I absolutely love this board! I got this block as a wedding gift for my cousin. They love it! It is the focal point for their kitchen.

I use my Boos Block every day and it still looks brand new. I like the wooden blocks because they aren't so hard on my knives. I get compliments from everyone who comes into my kitchen. Especially if they use it. The size is just right. I use it for everything but meat. I use a cutting board I can pop in the dishwasher for meat. I'm sure I'll have this block in my kitchen for the remainder of my cooking days. If I decide to get a cutting block for friends or family as gifts, it will be a Boos!
