The fit on this item is much larger than I thought it would be although it does work well.

This was not an oven mitt, but rather a mesh protection to be used when grating, cutting, etc. It didn't come in sizes, and therefore it's really too big for smaller hands. While it provides some protection, it isn't like a knight's armor.
