Love the colourstainless finish! Works great

I'm really horrified to read the reviews now that I've received my order. The one I got is correctly made from stainless steel, and I can only HOPE it does not have lead in it as someone else suggested. UGH! This item is very weighty compared to the original white coated aluminum one. All those complaining of the finish becoming tarnished or charcoal colored after one wash in the dishwasher have been sent a polished aluminum product that never should be used in food prep or put in the dishwasher. I presume KitchenAid's suppliers have been shipping aluminum ones instead of S.S., which is a travesty. KitchenAid, please stop outsourcing overseas and start making high-quality products we expect right here in the USA!!

I was hoping for better from Kitchenaid. I absoutley hate that I purchased a new stand mixer and the attachments are coated. Why? Why sell products that eventually will chip and end up in the food? Secondly, the dough hook is quite possibly the worst design ever. The dough climbs the hook requiring frequent stops to clear the hook. May as well just go back to hand mixing and kneading. The design just dosent make sense. Re-designing the hook and adding a dough shield would better the process of making bread

First time use (although owned the mixer for a while) and the dough hook came out of dishwasher powdery and leaving black marks.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to but this to replace the one that came with the mixer as it broke. This one fits and works well. Wife is happy now.
