Perfection…Beautiful as well .. very heavy ..worth every dollar spent …enjoying my Dutch oven so so so much can’t say enough . Since I’ve retired ….My wife has had me take on the full time housework and cooking …I’m enjoying every minute.

I have only used this Dutch oven once so far, but it was a fabulous experience. Most of my cast iron is Staub, and this has a similar dimpled lid. I have one piece of Le Creuset - this Lava has a similar smooth white enameled finish, as opposed to the Staub, which has black enamel that is sort of textured. I have 4 qt and 5 qt Staub Dutch ovens, but found they were too small for some of the dishes I like to prepare. I wanted a quality 7 qt Dutch oven, but didn't want to pay hundreds for a French one. I found a food blogger's recommendation for the Lava brand, and decided to try it. There was a tiny chip on the rim of the base, but other than that it's just as nice. It kept food piping hot for over an hour after I had taken it off the stove. Clean up was easier than my black enamel ovens. I'm very pleased with this purchase and wouldn't hesitate to buy Lava brand products again.

After lots of research I ended up buying this Cast Iron Dutch Oven due to the unique lid design (it is so close to that of a Staub) as well as the size and price point. The pot has nice and even heat distibution and allows you to slow cook for hours without drop of water spilling out of the lid (this is due to the lid design). I can highly recomend this product!

Pot can be used of course, however, quality is not worth the price - walls and bottom too thin, as a result does not hold heat well, easily burns food; handles are too flimsy for the size of the pot; and, rim of pot was left not enameled which will promote rusting.
